3 NORTHERN ISLAND BOAT TRIP
We all have dreamed of the perfect boat trip, surrounded by white sand and crystal clear water, haven’t we? If you have the opportunity to come to Mauritius, don’t miss a day-trip to the Northern islands by speed boat. It’s a stunning, idyllic and dreamy day. Discovering these islands is clearly one of the top things to do in Mauritius. These three islands are heaven on earth with amazing underwater life, unique beaches and turquoise waters… plus they are completely uninhabited.
Flat island, Gabriel island and Coin de Mire are three islands located in the north of Mauritius, about 6 km from the main land. We will have to cruise outside the lagoon to join this paradise.
How does this excursion work?
The meeting point is at 9.30am at Cap Malheureux (GPS: -19.986160,57.618065), the Wanderlust Wave team will welcome you on board and the captain will look after you and answer any questions you may have. After a 25 min cruise through the Indian Ocean, your first stop will be Flat Island for a once in a lifetime snorkelling session (fins, mask and snorkel are provided) followed by leisure time on the wonderful beaches there.
The team will prepare the BBQ for you and will invite you to have lunch at 12pm. You will enjoy a delicious meal of grilled fish, chicken, sausage, salad and flambeed bananas, all served with water and punch.
After your meal, you will have time to explore Flat island and walk on the beach. Around 1.30pm the captain of the boat will show you the second beauty of the day: Gabriel island! Smaller than the first one, Gabriel island is THE place to look for the beautiful turtles of Mauritius. Most of the time, you will be able to swim with these amazing creatures, as-well as a lot of colourful fish.
Around 2.30 pm, the Wanderlust Wave boat will take you to the last snorkelling spot: Coin de Mire. With a little luck, depending on the season you may see dolphins and whales on the way. Coin de mire is shown on many postcard… this is the most amazing spot for an unforgettable moment in the deep crystal blue waters. To finish the day, the crew will offer you a last drink on the boat and then you will arrive back on the mainland of Mauritius at 4pm.
